Fighting Irish 1-0; Coach Dempsey Becomes The All Time Winningest Coach In CCHS History

The Fighting Irish come out victorious in their first ever meeting with the Bobcats of Bowling Green High School.  In sweltering heat and in front of an estimated 5,000 fans the Irish relied on a punishing ground attack and a swarming defense to produce a 24-7 hard fought victory.  The Bobcats behind talented, Ball State bound quarterback Aaron Mershman couldn't get anything going offensively thanks to the stifling "Irish Swarm" defense. The Irish amassed over 200 yards on the ground led by the punishing duo of Mike Marrow and Brad Rogers.  The defense pressured Mershman all night long limiting the heralded qb to just over 100 yards passing.  The Irish front seven dominated the line of scrimmage all night long limiting the bobcats to seven yards on the ground. The victory gave Irish coach Greg Dempsey his 70th victory making him the winningest coach in CCHS gridiron history - congratulations coach Dempsey.  Next Friday night the Fighting Irish travel to Dublin where they will go to battle with another Fighting Irish team - Dublin Scioto who also started the 2008 season 1-0.  Let's support our team by making the trip and cheering them on to another victory!
